Angry Unable to edit contacts/unable to change sound profiles

I recently had to get a replacement tour because my previous one was damaged and I imported my contacts to the new tour but they are currently locked in, so I can't edit them or delete them. Also, when I receive emails and/or texts, my phone won't play any notification sounds except vibrate,

Anyone else having these issues? And if so, how do I fix them?

How are you trying to edit your contacts? Are you going into the specific contact and then clicking the menu key to bring up the options? What happens when you try that? Just curious as I haven't heard of that happening before. As for the notification sounds, can you select and/or edit your sound profiles?

I am highlighting a contact and pressing the menu button. When I edit it, a message appears saying the contact was edited externally and changes were not saved.

As for the sound profiles, I can select and edit them, but I hear nothing when I receive an email or text.

Is your speaker working? Do you get any sounds at all? If you go to your music folder and player a sample song, do you hear it? Sorry for not being able to help as this is an odd one.

@chhare, How do I turn my speaker on? I tried listening to the default song but heard nothing.
@kbz1960, I am running 5.0.0.975 (VZW)

Try this. Go to Options (wrench) and then select Sounds and Ring Tones. In that screen should be your ring tone and the Volume default. What does that show? Is it at something like 5? If at Silent, set it to a number and then scroll to the bottom of the screen to "Try It". See if you get any sound then. Good luck.

@chhare

I tried that but the same result. I'm going to contact Verizon and see what happens. Thanks for the help.
