How do you make changes to the phone number you select from your contacts to send a sms/mms. For example in my address book I have *82 in front of my contacts so that my blocked phone number will show up on their caller I'd. If I don't remove that *82, the text won't go through to that person. On my centro it was easy to change but the tour won't allow me to changes to that number. What I have been doing is selecting the show number option and re typing, then going back and deleting the number containing the *82. Just seems awful complicated. Any suggestions? This is a verizon tour.

Couple of things.... The best way is to call VZW CS and as to have your caller ID blocked then you can delete the *82 from all your numbers, *67 will unblock your number to any calls you dont want blocked. Problem solved.

Its blocked now, using *82 unblocks it.

Ok.. I'm with you.. You could always add a new number to your contacts without the *82 in front of it.. list it under work 2 or something .. thats the best way.

I think the best way is to not completely deleting their message from my sms/mms in box so I can quickly just hit their name to start a message.

there's also an option on your blackberry that automatically makes your number private if you turn it on...instead of HAVING to put *82

To block caller ID you hit the send button > menu > options > general options > restrict my identity

So it will not restrict my identity to people in my address book. I want people in my address book to know its me calling.
