Tour shutting down on its own... Help?
My Tour has been acting really funny lately. It will power down on its own and reboot by itself. Usually it's when I have too many things going on at once or if I'm trying to send an MMS message in an area where there is poor signal (usually in stores or whatever). It shuts down, then reboots and the battery is ALWAYS completely drained after it turns back on. Today, it did the same thing only this time, the radio was turned off so I had to go into Manage Connections and turn all my connections back on. I'm thinking the battery is shot so I just ordered a new one. But could it be anything else? I'm due for an upgrade but I was hoping to wait it out until Verizon gets their crap together and offers a 4G Blackberry. So I'd like to wait if possible. I just can't be without my phone for even a day since it's the only way to get a hold of me in case of an emergency. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I have a Tour 9630 and I had the same problem. I would be moving around the screen, texting, or simply waking my device with any key and its screen would flash, the RED LED would come on and it would reboot itself. It is really annoying having to wait about 5 mins for the phone to boot itself. This would happen every 10 minutes.
My fix was that I installed a hybrid software onto it that had some OS6 patches. This really worked. It still reboots itself but notas frequently as before. Now it only reboots about once a week! You can find this by googleing "Hybrid OS for BB TOUR 9630"/ Just install as any other software.
Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your quick response! My phone does the same thing, the red light and all that. It's so frustrating! It's only done it 3 times but the first time it happened, it did it twice, back to back. I'll have to look into the hybrid OS. I appreciate the help! I'm actually hoping it's just the battery... it seems to drain really fast anymore. I've had it for a few years now so I'm sure it needs to be replaced. That's my first step, then I'll try something else.

Some had loose doors and taping a business card or something on the inside of the door helped secure it. Hour problem sounds like time for a new battery.Sent from me using my fingers. Be pantless in 5K. Febreze - for more than smells.
