Battery life here is bad. But let me try to narrow down the problem...

I'm running:

Facebook
UberTwitter (set at 10 minute refresh intervals)
Google Maps (with Latitude sharing enabled)

Backlight is set to 100 with auto backlight dim set to OFF.
Bluetooth is on but not connected to anything.

With the above things enabled and after moderately high use (although very little calling), the phone is almost completely dead after about 11 hours from the last charge.

That's about all I think that is relevant. Starting tomorrow I think I'm going to not run Google Maps or UberTwitter and change the auto backlight dim to on and see how it affects it.
holy crap with all you got running in the background and your settings id say 11 is great.
here is a list of things you can do to save on battery.
1. change your gps settings to emergency 911 only. the gps being on all the time is a major cause of battery drain as the device is always searching for signal.
2. Lower the screen backlight. i have it set to 30 and i may even reduce it because its still pretty bright. this will help with battery alot as well.
3. And with any app but especially apps such as ubertwitter and viigo you should always close out of them properly. Apps such as ubertwitter are constantly updating if you dont close them out correctly and will kill a battery faster than anything. If you do decide that running these programs in the background is necessary bump up the update interval to something longer than 10 minutes, updating every 10 minutes is brutal on the battery.
4.And i would suggest in looking into an extended battery. I have the seido slim extended battery for the storm and since the use the same battery it works perfectly on my tour. This battery packs an extra 15% of battery into the same package. This was my best purchase for any cell phone because it extends my usage quite a bit and it was only 40-50 bucks.

hopes this helps because this is a really great phone and i would hate for you to not like it.

Is the loose battery cover affecting all tours? Or just some? Should I take my chances of exchanging it? The reason I ask is b/c its not just the door cover thats bothering me. The trackball has been stuck about five different times since I've gotten it.

My only problem is the jerky trackball. I don't know if it's worth exchanging it with Verizon. Up and down work fine but when I go left or right - hardcore lag!

I might go back in and try to switch it out but I don't think it is as bad as others.
Put a piece of tape on the battery (fold it to make it double sided) that will remedy the problem...

Here's my problem: I bought from Sprint.

Ordered at 12:15am July 12... and Sprint didn't even have any in stock upon their "release". If I see a Sprint labeled Tour before August I'll be shocked.

I always give myself 2 weeks with a new device before complaining.

Sounds like majority of issues are folks having issues dealing with CHANGE.

I'm having the same issue. It worked fine all day yesterday, but today it's almost impossible for me to get the trackball to go left or right.

Messed with the demo in the store today.
Played with it for awhile. Had ZERO complaints.

The only thing that I noticed was that the charging port was so loose, that any movement of the phone caused the charger to go in and out and then the clock would pop up on the screen. Did this about 20 times in 3 minutes before I just unplugged it.

May have just been an overused demo unit. My usb cable plugs rather firmly into the charging port, with zero wiggle room.

What really gets me is at the bottom of the phone where the door is, you can use your finger nails to expose the inside! That is horrible if you have any kind of moisture around. That white dot will get pink just by having sweaty hands.

Secondly, who here, when you go into your browser, set your font to it's hightest, boldest font and save it, only for it to go back to where it was? I set my settings all to their maximum and they don't save.
I almost returned my Tour this morning because of the inability to set the browser font. I am still a little confuse about the best settings for the broswer. Do I use the page or column view? In the store he told me that when you set the option to page, what you get is the column view. With the curve, the column view was perfect. All of the info on the page fit neatly into a column. On the Tour, you have to zoom in and out. You can use the menu button to do that. An easier way to do it is that you can press the "i" key to zoom in and the "o" key to zoom out. I find it annoying however, that when the print is a reasonable size, you have to scroll left and right to read that which doesn't fit on the screen. Does anyone have any suggestions about what options work best for reading smaller print in the browser? Why on earth is the Tour set up so that what you set it for is the opposite of what you get?? I like it very much otherwise-- any help would be appreciated.

Default New to blackberry

This is my first blackberry so I don’t know if this is normal

One problem that I have noticed the keyboard backlight does not turn on all the time sometimes I’m typing and the light is off I have the auto dim set to off is there another setting that I am missing?

Second I have also noticed that sometimes when I get a txt message the alert cuts off and does not play the whole sound.

My battery cover is a little loose but not to bad
