I'm late to the conversation, but I too went and checked out the rumor about the Tour on Wirefly. I've been disappointed at the release of the Tour ever since I re-purchased the Storm in May of this year. I'm a former Treo 700wx user and loved the QWERTY input method so I was wanting a BB device - other than the 8830 - with a QWERTY keyboard. AT&T offered the Bold, but VZW only had the Storm. So I sacrificed and tried the Storm in Mar of this year. I ended up returning it within a week due to the quirky input method. There was a rumor that the 9630 would be released on 15 May so I decided to wait on it. Well we all know that didn't happen so I went back and got the Storm. I learned to deal with the input method and no sooner than my 30day trial period ran out, here comes the news for the Tour (9630) again. Damn! Oh well. I'm seriously thinking about terminating my service with VZW, paying the fee and going over to another carrier. I don't particularly care about the Tour. I just want a BB device with a full QWERTY keyboard other than the 8830.

You can try selling your Storm on Ebay and recoup your money (and perhaps extra?). Might fetch a nice price since it's new.
Surprisingly, sellers are still getting some hefty bids on the Storm.

I included a pic of my upgrade status BTW:
Where do you go to see your upgrade status and contract end date? I can't seem to find a chart like you did.

Default Wirefly

Just an FYI - I posted this on the article about wirefly and the tour, but if you have ordered from Wirefly or are thinking about ordering from wirefly, you might want to check out the bbb rating on them:

BBB of Washington DC & Eastern PA: BBB Reliability Report

I called wirefly too, thinking that I could just extend my contract and was told that I would only qualify with them for a new phone if I qualified with Verizon for a new phone...

I myself dont trust this WireFly thing also. Mine as du 7/24 for an upgrade. I want it bad so Im not waiting lol. A Verizon rep told me how to do it.

I got pre order for the phone with just an email plan for $50 a month. I got the Phone for the $199 and just purchased it with all the information I use from my original account she told me. It went through. When You recieve it she said, hook that phone up to your line. Once thats done, Run that line out untill over 31 days and you will have the ETF of $175 to pay to cancel that line. You pay $214 (w/tax in nj) now. $175 later to cancel. $389 total for the phone now. If you dont want to pay Retail for it, this is the way to go about it.

I dont mind personally. Because my main line will have the early promotion date of 7/24 so if ever later down the line or whatnot. I can do something and get another phone (BlackBerry) officially for the 2 year contract price.
What if I terminate my contract by switching to another carrier for 2 days pay ETF of $140 and than come back to Verizon as new customer? Most other carries will charge only minutes used. That would make it total $375 for new Tour ($140ETF $200 for Tour and $35 Activation)

I told WireFly that I promoted them on this Message board and they offered me 2 or 3 free accessories for helping them out even know they cancelled my order. So all and all it was happy ending for me.
