How can you tell when your Tour was manufactured?

The end of the box my Tour came in says MADE IN MEXICO 5. Just above that, 090709 appears. Does this mean 09 as the year, 07 as the month and 09 as the day (July 9th, 2009)???

Mine was made in Mexico 5 on the 24th of July of this year, though I have noticed some weird things here and there about my phone...like the dates especially...

Yup, that's exactly what it means...don't let other people make you feel stupid for not automatically knowing what six random numbers on the box mean...

All is perfect..I have been trying to wear out-break trackball so I have reason to replace with G1 trackball lol

Is it possible to determine the manufacture date from within the device itself (i.e. without the box it came in)? I would like to know the manufacture date of Tours I test out that are on display in the Verizon store.

Pretty sure it's box only, unless the date is printed on the sticker under your battery. I'd check for you, but I don't want to wait the 6 minutes it takes for my phone to reboot!
