sooo tell me if im stupid or what but i took a capture of this and im not sure what to take from it. i thought the tour had 256. but

    121 870 963 bytes = 116.225207 megabytes
which is what memory up pro3 detects?

    any help would be great.

reboot your phone and watch that number go higher. then watch it drop as you use apps. reboot and it comes back up.

try having a 8330 running 5.0. i don't have a lot of apps. but as of right now. i got 15 megs after reboot. it eventually drops to 5 megs. if i do a clean install. and nothing loaded or even service books. i get 36 megs to play with. good thing i don't use bb messenger, cuz that's a pretty big program that i just don't have room for anymore.

good point i never realized that. i guess cuz 121 megs seems like a formatted 128 so i just thought that.

Your memory isnt low, plus you can improve it by taking out what you dont need like languages you dont use, sample video, etc etc... AND make sure all your media goes to the media card. But 116 mb is plenty of memory.

Try using a Curve. Then you will know the definition of "low memory."

if you have 116 left, thats A LOT of memory! try using a storm one with only 40mb of memory to work with

116 is rather high, if you are interested in higher memory, you jump over to the hybrid section and use shrinkaos with the hybrid 5.0, I believe I've seen someone shrink their OS to close to 50mb.

I boot with about 115MB of memory and I have about 20 apps installed. That is a really awesome memory amount, be happy.

I get about 98 after reboot and I have about 15 apps installed plus several themes. Definite improvement over my Curve 8330;-)

I don't know, I just rebooted now since I switched themes, and I am at 113MB, but I did install my Slingplayer last night which is kind of big.

Check the forums on how to maximize memory by removing unwanted files. I usually boot around 125-130MB and I have about 12 apps at the moment.

you should be able to change the allocation from the DM, I saw it somewhere when playing with it a while back. i'll look around again and find it...

EDIT: scratch that, think i was referring to the media card allocation for "non-media files".

The "missing" RAM is being used...the RAM you see is the RAM available.

I came from a 8330m so i feel the pain. and yeh i guess that is a good amount because i never have open apps unless im using them.

i hope the "official" 5.0 manages ram alot better.
that is only if the tour ever gets an official 5.0
