- I am a verizon customer and my new every 2 is set for July 30, 2009. If I wait until this date what will the cost of the device be for me.
I understand the cost with a new 2 year contract is now set at $199. Am I entitled to additional NE2 discounts? I also thought I saw a mail in rebate for $70. I appreciate the help!!06-29-09 08:05 AMLike 0 - 06-29-09 08:19 AMLike 0
- Just to make sure I'd call a vzw store ne2 have been moving to $30 or $50 based on what your montly pmt is. If it is still 100 you're on an older calling plan and when you make the change will most likely switch to a 50 for the next upcoming upgrade
As for the price with a miR I'm not sure when the storm was release it was supposed to be 249.99 with a 50 miR but It was release at just 199.99 so I'm thinking it will most likely be that. Worst comes to worst 269.99 with a 70 miR06-29-09 08:23 AMLike 0 - Often when a new phone is released VZW will be willing to move up your NE2 as long as it within a month. Couldn't hurt to ask, OR you may want to wait till your date and check out some of the reviews first. Although we are hearing from testers that the Tour is VERY solid!06-29-09 10:01 AMLike 0

Also, the $199 price is already after the $70 rebate (whether it's mail-in for stores/kiosks, or instant for online orders).
So, it should be $199 minus your respective NE2 discount (as described above).
Like others have said, best thing to do is call customer service after the phone is released on the 12th. They'll let you know what your discount will be, and I'm 99% sure they'll even offer you the upgrade a couple weeks early.Last edited by richro; 06-29-09 at 10:11 AM.
06-29-09 10:08 AMLike 0 - $100 NE2 discount is assuming he's on a calling plan that is $79.99 or higher. Otherwise, it'll be $50.

if hes nearing the end of his 2 year then he has the 100..
the 50 dollar one didnt even start 2 years ago..06-29-09 01:28 PMLike 0 -
- $50 for Calling Plan $34.99-$79.98
- $100 for Calling Plan $79.99 and up
Enrolled on or after 2/15/09
- $30 for Calling Plan $34.99-$79.98
- $50 for Calling Plan $79.99 and up
If and only if you were enrolled before 2/5/06 (which means you haven't upgraded in over 3 years), then you'd be eligible for the universal $100 NE2 discount.06-29-09 01:39 PMLike 0 - Enrolled between 2/5/06-2/14/09:

As for the 50 vs 100, you're right... I guess I always just assume people make a lot of calls since I'm a large business user and use a lot of minutes. But hey, worse case possible, they only have a credit of $50 instead of $100. I myself, don't ever pay more then $99 for any Blackberry I've gotten. So if I was to get it, I'd only be paying $99, but I'm not, so I won't.06-29-09 02:43 PMLike 0 - SevereDeceitSDI'm just waiting for release day, I've been eligible for a NE2 upgrade awhile now...
