In the end, if you feel you need to upgrade than upgrade, if not then don't. The specs can only influence you but so much.

Personally, I'm waiting until all the tweaks have been tested and refined. Lls

I pulled this up from a trusty old google search .. it is 3.1 mb/s

"CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A, the latest commercial generation of EV-DO technology, increases the peak data transmission download speed to 3.1 Mbps, the peak upload speed to 1.8 Mbps and enables telephony-based services such as voice, push-to-talk and video telephony over a wireless IP network."

HSDPA on the other hand, is rated at over 14.1 Mbps.

"High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also coined 3.5G or 3G+, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.4 Mbit/s."

Coming from an 8330, I'm looking forward to higher res display, faster processor and how much stuff I can put on a 32gb memory card.

As for EVDO Rev. A, I thought the curve had that any way?

To the OP: If you really want to compare the Curve and thr Tour, go here:

Personally, I have (and love) the 8330 but I'm planning on upgrading for the better screen and keyboard. I'll probably end up giving my Curve to my mom since she has a Centro (gotta get her away from Palm )

I love my curve, but since I won't be eligable for an upgrade for over a year, I'll be ok with my 8330. By then I know a slick bb will be out by then to take all of my money,

Actual quote by CX: "The 9630's processor is far from outdated. Granted it's not clocked as fast as the Bold's, outdated is definitely not the correct description..."

The Tour has a weaker processor than the Bold and it's not faster... The Bold is and will still be the king when it comes to that. The only thing CX said was faster was the browser due to it being a newer release.

There's a reason why the Bold is still the most expensive Blackberry being sold you know...

In our house we have the curve and the new tour now granted that rim has ugraded the phns (Tour) if and when you upgrade the curve you do get improved performance but it is STILL SLOWER and has a lower res screen and if you stream tv or want cleaner pix the res is better with tour . Don't get me wrong enjoy the curve my gf loves hers but the fact remains that the tour's better.
