The actual network is 3G, so the Tour can't go faster than the network! | I pulled this up from a trusty old google search .. it is 3.1 mb/s "CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A, the latest commercial generation of EV-DO technology, increases the peak data transmission download speed to 3.1 Mbps, the peak upload speed to 1.8 Mbps and enables telephony-based services such as voice, push-to-talk and video telephony over a wireless IP network."
HSDPA on the other hand, is rated at over 14.1 Mbps. "High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also coined 3.5G or 3G+, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.4 Mbit/s."
