TONS of problems with my tour

Pretty much, it's a long list.. I don't want to sit here and list out every detail of everything wrong, so if you know a lot about this phone, hit me up. I'll list like general hey this is wrong so you have an idea on what you can help with. Thanks in advance.

I just recently, like 2 weeks ago or so, got a new tour. List of things wrong already.

-very, very low memory when I don't even have too much downloaded
-having huge troubles with putting/changing the music on my memory card to put on my phone (main issue)
-backlight is really bright even though its on 10
-trackball freezing
-headphone decided to not fit into this tour, tried every tip recommended for my last tour and also some other tricks, none worked
-myspace doesn't link to my phone even though it's downloaded
-can't link phone emails to computer emails (if I delete, open, etc one on my phone, I have to do the same thing on my computer because I have 100 unopened not deleted emails that I have to go through again)

those are the main problems, yeah, long list... and Verizon is kinda a piece and doesn't help at all =] so thank you

Or possibly the OP could read the FAQ and posts in the Tour sections as just a cursory glance shows most of these questions are responded to already.

actually, BUD, it's not like I haven't tried about a million times, stuff on here is really hard to find that matches what you need, ya some questions are similar, but my problems aren't what other people are asking that I've found, so lose the attitude, didn't your parents teach you the whole "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".. just saying, i've looked.

#1. Cant help, how many programs do you have installed and what is your memory at?
#2. dont eat food and touch your trackball, if it is defective past that take it to verizon and have them replace it, they will, trust me.
#3. if you look inside the headset jack you will see a very tiny piece of metal that needs bent down, its the piece of metal closest to you, I had this problem as well, and now have no problems at all.....BUT BE CAREFUL bending it down (take a paperclip and do it, and bend it just so slightly)
#4. dont use myspace, but what operating system are you using?
#5. yeah I hate this too, but BIS 3.0 should solve this soon! yeah!!!

OK, well get an 5.0 os, load a hybrid, shrink it stop using myspace ( for kids) jack problem fixed, and yes the new bis will be awesome ( i hope)
other than that. the bold is not nearly as nice as the tour. mem is less, cam not as good, and tons of other reasons. the phone has the capability to be awesome once you have a better os... wait for the official if you want. but if not look on how to load a beta or official thats not on your carrier. make your berry work for you. tons of help out there and it seems your not really trying. good luck but you are one of the few that have not emraced the tour.

This is not a problem with the phone. This means you're using POP3 as a mail protocol for these email boxes.

Why is there alot of people that have this phone, but only a few that actually know how to use it

Some very good advice listed .. I had some of the same trackball issues .. I don't know if it's a good idea or not ..but I cleaned my trackball with a slightly damp alcohol prep swab and it worked fine and has for months now.

As for adding music .. I do it the easy way .. I remove my Sim card place it in a micro carrier and use a thumb drive to drag all my music over.

Also I see your listed in IL Chicagoland area has a number of big repair stores that would be more than happy to look at your phone .. They even replaced one of my phones after they couldn't fix an issue

I agree with most peps here. If you have had the same issues with a pearl and now your Tour, then it is clear it is not the device but how you have your accounts set up. As far as the trackball goes, go to the store and see if you can get it replaced...trackballs give in so fast and easily.

#1- Options\Applications, uninstall all that useless crap, games, help, and anything else that you DON'T use that's considered 3rd party
#2- Use DRM-less files, copyrighted files can be use but you need to do a different process, not as fun and not nearly as user friendly
#3- It's a bright backlight, set it to auto dim as well
#4- Spend $10 and buy a curve trackball replacement and swap them out
#5- Myspace is crap, stay away from it
#6- Log into your BIS and set your email accounts up, then from your phone, go into the options under each mail account and set up how you want to handle what happens if you delete mail received on your phone, does it delete from the mailbox as well and what happens if there's a conflict between the phone and the pop3 mailbox, who wins?

Problems solved.

How many times have you removed the battery and reinstalled it? Even with the original Operating System on the phone and all the cheap and lazy apps, each physical reboot has always started me with just about half of my application memory free. What OS are you running, in terms of speed, lag and performance, 4.6 is nothing compared to the 5.0 leaks out there.

I don't consider this TONS OF ISSUES, nearly as much as I see it as a lack of device familiarity. Sorry, but I call it like I see it.

I've done all that kind of stuff as far as memory, myspace, emails, the headphones etc. which is why I didn't say help I don't know how to use my phone, it's not that at all, it's all this stuff I've already done and nothing works still. I've set up my emails with the if i delete it on my phone blah blah all that, I don't have any "extras" downloaded except facebook, myspace, yahoo and the newer BBM, that's all, and I don't leave yahoo running and my memory is at 74000000 ish, even after multiple battery pulls. I can download music to my memory card but when I put it back in my phone the new songs aren't there. I really don't want to just shove a paper clip into my phone and risk really screwing something up cause I don't know what I'm doing and then they can't fix it because it's my fault.

Oh, and I don't care what phones better than this, it's the one I have, I don't plan on changing phones, so please keep oh well just switch what phone you have comments to yourself. As far as why I have this phone, no it's not to "feel important and look cool" it's because I need something like this because it fits my schedule and lifestyle, it's the one phone I've found that has what I need to keep up with life and stay on track without forgetting and all that. And yes, I live in Illinois, not all of Illinois is Chicago, I'm about 5 hours away from Chicago.
