I got a chance to play with a tour for a couple minutes today at verizon when I stopped in. The trackball worked flawless! it scared me yesterday when i saw a reveiwer has showed us the trackball not responding to good, but i got a chance to try it out myself and trust me, I am extreamly picky, and the trackball was GREAT to say the least, very sensitive and never once did not repond to where i wanted it to go. Wish I had more tim with it, but I was impressed

The trackball has no issues at all.
The only issue that you may face is that it's "recessed" more than devices that others are currently used to.
If you have used an 8900 or Bold, it's set the same way...It freaks everyone out at first because it doesn't "protrude" as much as older trackball berries.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | Do you think this was done in an effort to prolong the trackball on the Bold/Tour? Or are the common problems still there?

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | Correct.
It doesn't have that big a$$ chrome ring around it and stick out like an outtie belly button.
If you hold the device horizontally, the trackball doesn't stick out further than the keys itself.
It's not recessed like an 8350i trackball is, it is just more "flush" with the keys of the device.
If you have a TMobile or AT&T store near you, just go in and play with an 8900 or Bold...That's exactly how the trackball is on the 9630.

A: The device is "sleeker" and more up to date.
B: There is VERY LITTLE room for dust, lint and whatever else people have gotten jammed underneath their trackball on the Curve and Pearl devices.
