I will be in europe and am looking for a way to text message my american friends through data (which is unlimited). I would ideally just text through AIM but can't seem to get the default AIM application to receive texts back from other people. Does anyone have any input on how to accomplish this?

How many of your friends have BB's? YOu could always PIN message

have your friends send you a text to your email, then you can reply to them through data

not nearly enough to rely on pin or bbm. ideally i'd like a little better solution than texting their email but that could work

BeeJive's AIM works great. It's not free, but it would cost less in the long run than SMS costs.

You can sms thru google voice, and I believe that'll use data instead of your txt plan.
