Switching numbers on Verizon family plan

I know this issue has probably come up before, but I can't find the specific answer:

I'm on a Verizon family plan with my mother, who is obviously the account holder and is the only one eligible for the upgrade to the Tour for $199. However, she has no interest in a new phone, and I do. I'm currently living in France, but will be back July 20. If I pre-order the Tour now on my mother's account, after I get back and activate the phone would it be possible to switch the numbers of our phones? I've done this once before, but not with a Blackberry, so I want to make 100% sure before I pay.

Should I just wait until I get home and do it in the store?

you can use her upgrade for your line, with her permision. I would probably just wait to get it in-store.

what he said. just wait till you come back, and do an Alternate Upgrade. so much simpiler and less annoying.
