Default Sprint Tour 9630

So I got home from vacation last night and used my phone with no problems. I wake up this morning to my alarm going off and I couldn't shut it off. I pulled the battery, same thing, alarm was going off and couldn't shut it off. Pulled the battery again and let it charge up. About 30 minutes later, pulled the battery and it booted, the track ball could navigate back and forth but I couldn't select anything, the menu and back button also didn't work. rebooted again and same thing. So I dropped my phone off at the sprint store and they called me back and said my phone had water damage. My phone was never dropped in water. The only water it was near was the condensation from my water glass on my night stand. I have insurance but it seems like Sprints way out of fixing it, is saying it has water damage. Is it possible the water damage is from the humidity and or condensation from a water glass? I should note my phone was not in the little puddle of condensation. Any suggestions? I have used the bag of rice trick with my ipod i sent through the washer??

Yes Sprint are really fickle about replacing phones. You might have to raise a little sand to get what you want. I mean if you have insurance don't let them get out of not fixing your phone.

Hate to break it to you, but this is water damage. It doesn't take much.

I take showers with my phone/ipod in the bathroom, I feel that would mess my phone up before your drink does

This happened to my father, he charged his phone in the bathroom; not sure why the **** he did that, but it caused water damage from the build up of condensation.

Since you have insurance, pay the deductible and get a refurb device. Next time, dont have your phone ANYWHERE near water, condensors, etc... Better safe than sorry.

There are little water sensors that turn pink if there is water damage. Ask to see the sensors and that should settle it one way or the other. Also ask to see what an undamaged water sensor looks like. Good Luck!
