- After yet another 552 software error (7th one so far?) I went to the RIM site and found this. Is this a newer version? I clicked on the download software link and it asked me for all kinds of personal information. Hopefully, someone can help me. I'm about to throw my Tour against the wall.

It has been suggested that it does fix that type or error or reduces its frequency.
See the sticky at the top of the Tour forum. It is not officially available for Sprint or Verizon but is out for other carriers.
Good luck01-30-10 12:51 PMLike 0 - the .77 refers to the package version, if you look at the "Applications" those are the same 4.5 OS' that have been out for awhile. I would suggest you check out the 5.0.0.419 OS with Driphter's Dv5.1 Hybrid. It's FAST!
If you are new to installing OS' and Hybrids, check out this step by step procedure on how to do it with success:

Also you can find the 5.0.0.419 OS at the top of the 9630 Forum, and Driphter's 5.1 hybrid EXE here:
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download Driphter Dv5.1.exe01-30-10 12:56 PMLike 0 - Ok, thanks. I got excited thinking there was a new OS out but Sprint hadn't pushed it yet. I'm afraid to try a hybrid honestly. This is my first BB and I've already let Sprint know I'm having lots of issues with this phone, and told one CS guy that according to RIM, it's a known problem so hurry up already with a fix!
If I were to install the OS 5, would I still get Sprint TV, Navigation, etc?01-30-10 01:02 PMLike 0 - I was always afraid to try a hybrid too! It's really easy
According to this thread, Sprint TV now works....

Now about Sprint navigation? Not sure about that as I don't use it...maybe someone else can chime in...01-30-10 01:04 PMLike 0 - Sprint Nav does work on 5.0, I use it all the time. And what's so funny about him using .57? Did you not know that existed?01-30-10 01:22 PMLike 0
- Thanks for letting me know about the Nav. Yes I know .57 exists, that's what I'm using. I thought he was using OS 5, not the old one, that's why I was laughing. It was a joke.01-30-10 01:25 PMLike 0

- So far I'm LOVING it. The browser, and overall OS just screams!
If you do decide to do it, I would definitely follow the instructions from the link I posted above. It's well worth it if you're going to do it to do it the right way.
Part of those instructions either involves the Non-Hybrid vs. the Hybrid way.01-30-10 01:35 PMLike 0 - Check out that link
It'll tell you everything you need to know about a BB Operating system and what a Hybrid vs. a Non-Hybrid is.
