Soo...... I deleted all my SMS messages (and I think I deleted two of them without reading them)... so I have the visual alert saying that i have 2 unread messages, but no messages. How do I reset this number or this alert....?

No go on the battery pull. Still there after the restart.

Any other suggestions?

Try sending yourself a "test" text message...actually, send a few of them. When you go back in to read them, it should reset itself and clear...this worked for me on my Curve, so hopefully it's the same for the Tour.

Also check your messages folder to be sure you don't have some other type of message, like a missed call/update/etc.

Check your Saved Messages.

Hit Alt I it will open all of your incoming messages and there may be one there.
