I want to get my friend a Tour.

She has a storm and doesn't care for it.

Can I get her the Tour and use her storm without voiding the warranty?

    Any info will help!

    without voiding the warranty yes..

as far as phone insurance you may have to have her go in there and such to transfer insurance (I don't even know if this is possible)

but you wont void the warranty..

    Let me get this straight.

    I can buy it.
    Give it to her.
Not even touch it, and its like a brand new phone minus her contacts from her Storm.

She has insurance, does that carry over as well?

    Thanks for the speedy reply!

Yes it would be a new warranty because the phone is new. The Storm warranty would continue to have as much time that is left on it. You may have to transfer the insurance to the new phone but that should trake care of it. Just talk to customer care and explain to them they should tell you what the best thing to do would be.

As long as you keep Verizon service, I really don't think they care if you switch devices (or how often). I would say just talk to Customer Service, and they will help you out.

I know with Sprint as long as the insurance is on your plan it doesn't matter what device you switch to.

    here's a tip...

VZW insurance is non-transferable. Once the phone is off the line that originally had it, it is no longer covered. Trust me, I need to explain this to atleast one person a day. The warranty will be covered, but not insurance.
