I will be going to the store. My friend works in a very small kiosk with little traffic and when she gets them shipped one will have my name on it waiting for them to open.

I was going to get mine at Best Buy, but then Verizon got their act together with the pre-orders. Just got mine ordered with the NE2 discount. :-D Yay $150 Tour after instant rebates.

Just out of curiousity, why are so many people waiting specifically for Best Buy to get one? Is there something special about Best Buy that makes it a good place to get cell phones?

I have a Bold thru AT&T and Curve thru VZ so i pre-ordered. I don't want to wait in line in this 100 degree heat.

I preordered simply because of the instant rebate. Plus they were running a no activation fee. I will wait the extra few days just to avoid the mail in rebate. I hate those.

I pre-ordered as well. I prefer getting the instant online rebate as opposed to the mail-in rebate.

I'm also doing both. Pre ordered one and will be in store on 7/12 to get another (family member's upgrade). Do they charge an activation fee in store? I'm buying an extra to sell on ebay....I think I'll have to mention the possible activation fee...is it $20?

I just think the pre order option is safer
b/c stores could sell out quickly and there's already a waiting list at my store (which is why I laugh when people here assume that no one outside of crackberry.com knows about the Tour).

I think bottom line is, both options are great. If you can get to a store early on the 12th, you're set.....if you pre ordered, you get the rebate instantly and two days later, your phone comes to you (unless, like I'm desperately hoping) they ship out tomorrow like several VZW reps have stated. That'd be the best by far!!!!
