I am attempting to downgrade my VZW tour back to the official os (was using 5.0.0.419)
I wiped my tour and deleted 5.0 off my pc i plugged my BB in and used desktop manger to downgrade i clicked options like to allow the downgrade and everything

Everything was running smoothly until DM tried "connecting to boot ROM"
i got an error notice both times i tried this stating " Application loader could not connect to your device. Please ensure that your device is connected securely to your computer and click retry"

I clicked retry 3 times already....

Any ideas?

Use BBSAK instead of loader. Wipe with that and then load the OS. should work without issue.

That would be it. Use that and typically you will have zero problems. Also make sure you are not connected to the internet before you start the load.
