Default phone call and text/email at the same time?

does anyone know if the tour will be able to be on a phone call and be able to text/mms/email at the same time? my current 8130 and old 8330 would only do it sometimes and when it worked it would lag

Don't quote me on this, but I think you may only be able to send/receive text messages while in a call. MMS and email would be put on hold until the call us ended. This is a carrier issue, not a phone issue if I recall. I forget the details of why.

So, that would also mean, no calls while using GPS, since GPS uses data channel. Is this a CDMA limitation ?

I honestly don't see it as that big of a deal. When I'm on the phone I'm typically doing nothing else (but speaking to whoever is on the other end). It's nice that we can receive texts while on the phone, however. If I wanted to look something up while I was on the phone I think I'd prefer telling the person "Yo let me call you back in a few minutes", but that's just me :P

Its a bit irritating to hang up a call only to have a dozen BBM come in that were queued up. Although maybe it would get irritating to be on a call and keep getting BBMed.

you can still use GPS and get calls at the same time. I use VZ Navigator and have got plenty of calls while using the GPS...when your on a call when using the gps, a voice comies over the phone telling you your next move you have to make.. pretty cool

Yeah should be able to send texts and receive them while on calls. No surfing the net though. I think BBM works.. let me test. Nope bbm doesn't work on a call with Sprint for sure.

I am confused, if you cannot use data channel when phone is in use, how can GPS (which uses data channel) work ?

I'm no expert, but GPS isn't using the radio channel via the cell towers (voice/data uses radio); GPS uses a satellite receiver to discover its Global Position.
