I have a VZW tour and updated to 5.0 through the OTA, my father has the same phone and when i go to upgrade it for him it says "no upgrade available".

I tried resetting the device twice any other ideas on how to get the OTA to work?

apparently he has the most updated available OS. you can't do an ota on his phone. you could try a leaked os if you want.

assumming he is still running 4.7os

hmm.. not sure if this would help but its worth a shot.

resend service books.. Options, advanced options, host routing table, menu, Register now

if worse comes to worse, just plug the phone into desktop manager and the update will pop up

Go into Options / About and tell us what OS he is running.

Well, then I suggest you go to the link that fedge provided above and do the install on a pc. Sorry bud, but I don't know what else to say.

The pc install will definitely work.
