I'm currently w/ sprint and one of their workers told me about the niagara coming out in a couple of months. I have a htc mogul right now and looking to upgrade to the 8330 Curve but now i'm debating whether or not i should hold out until the 'niagara' comes out....but when the heck is that going to be? What will be the main difference between the curve and niagara? Is the Curve a pretty decent phone to have and use? Please help me out w/ any kind of info or advice! Thank you!
I would definately wait for the 9630. I don't like the Curve very much myself, though it's largely a matter of personal preference. I can type much better on the 8830, and I have a feeling the 9630 will the best typing experience ever, besides maybe the Bold.
why is it going take til oct/nov for this BB!?!?! i guess the curve will have to do for now then....can anybody advise me on which the better model will be btwn the curve and 8830?
I just recently switched back to Sprint and got the Curve 8330. So far I love the phone.
If the Niagara comes out Q3, I will be spending the money to jump up for sure, obviously after playing with it and seeing how it works. I am a big fan of the form factor for the Niagara and have heard it will bring the best of Bold & 8830. Only time will tell I spose....
ok guys here's where i need help...i'm on a month to month basis w/ sprint and i have the htc mogul 6800. if i decide to do an upgrade w/ them to a diff. phone then i'm binded to their 2 yr contract. i was told by a sprint employee that i could jus go ahead and buy a curve from the internet for a couple hundred of dollars and then just transfer my number to the new phone so that way i'm still doing month to month until the niagara comes out. do you guys think it'd be better or smarter to just keep using my mogul and then spend the couple hundred bucks toward the niagara? i've been wanting to get a BB and i want to get the latest one but that wont be for another few months...i'm just tired of this mogul. any suggestions would definitely help since i've never had a BB before which makes me want to get the curve to play around w/ until the niagara comes out, but i'm not sure if it'll be worth my money.
I bought my Curve off ebay in Jan for $130 with free shipping and added it with NO contract. I wasn't sure I would like a BB, now I can't wait for the niagara. I am sure if you look you should be able to find one for $100 - $150. And sell it when the new one comes out..

The Niagara should come to Sprint sometime in the July - September time frame, but that like all things is subject to change. The Curve is a great phone, and probably your best bet if you don't want to wait that long.

Keep in mind that if they're using business quarters... the year starts on April first. Q1 is April 1 for most companies. Q3 release might imply a winter release.
arcanexvi: fiscal year (also financial year, also budget year) begins at different quarters for different companies depending on how they run their own books. Most, including the US Govt, have the fiscal year begin Jan 1. Some companies, esp foreign entities, will start fiscal year Apr 1. I doubt that Sprint starts their year Apr 1; most likely they do start Jan 1.
As for this original post, I have the Sprint Curve (8330) and I suggest you get any cheap BB from craigslist and just wait for the Viagra... er, Niagara.
you can have your fiscal year start whenever you want -- just as long as you're consistant.
one motivation to do so is profit/sales trends. a company that is consistantly busy in january and/or slow in december is not going to want their fiscal year to end with the calendar year, because you normally would want to close out the year strong to show high hopes to your investors. companies will alter their fiscal year around these trends in order to show their strengths, rather than looking like they started out great and just got worse for the next 11 months.
that said -- it's not a mystery when a company's fiscal year ends -- it's public knowledge and you can easily find out who ends when, lil google work should find that info for you.
I don't think you should wait for the 9630, go ahead and get the curve, Nov, Dec will come and go and Sprint won't have released it. Its Sprint we talking about here, I have Sprint and I'm a loyal customer but they careless about the BB users on the network. They are more concerned about the frakin Palm Pre
