Newbie here with a quick question
this is my first BB and so far I am absolutely loving it!
I have a few questions regarding the application memory. I am currently at 83MB with the following apps that I loaded, does that seem about right? Are there any preloaded apps that are pretty much useless that I could get ride of in order for me to free up some app space?
Pandora
Facebook
Google Maps
Google Mobile
Viigo
The Weather Network
Blakstr
Blackberry App World
Thanks for any help!

Even at 83 meg it isn't like he/she is running out of memory.

I just did a quick pull and a battery pull and I have about 100MB free. I guess I had a bunch of programs running in the background.
Is there a way to see what programs are running and how to shut them down?
What preloaded apps have people deleted to free up space? - 08-21-2009, 02:48 PM #8
Yes. On OS 4.7 and above you can hold down the BlackBerry key to launch the Application Switcher. This will show you all the apps that are currently running. You can navigate by using the trackball. Five of the apps shown (Phone, Home, Messages, BBM, and Browser) cannot be shut down.
To shut down the rest, navigate to them and close (back button. Alternatively menu, close) or exit (menu, exit).
Using irtehun's Hybrid OS and Lyricidal's Shrink-A-OS, I've removed EVERYTHING except for Facebook, BBM, Default Fonts, SIM Card capabilities, and maybe one or two other things I can't remember off the top of my head.
I'm now booting at 138.6MB of memory and am hovering around that area through phone usage.
UberTwitter, Facebook, BeejiveIM, Viigo Lite, BerryBuzz, QuickLaunch, Youmail, and Weathereye are the only third-party apps installed.BlackBerry Bold 9650
