I just went to do this, but I'm not finding an "Update Preferred List" option after I go into Mobile Network Options and hit the Blackberry menu key.

These are the only options I see after I hit the BB Menu Key in Mobile Network Options:

Help
Diagnostics Test
Tools (Drop down box with DNS Lookup and Ping as options)
Switch Application
Close

I'm running 4.7.1.53 OS.

Am I missing a step? Do I need to do the *228, option 2 first? I just don't see anything that says update preferred list.

You are missing two options... well at least they are there on the Sprint version: Update Profile and Update Preferred List

X2 and the heads up.. just did mine and now I am at 60657. Too bad they didn't update the OS this fast also....lol.

running 5.0.0.230, prl version is stated as 0. What does this mean?

It means that you are running OS 5.0. This was addressed on the 1st page as well as 1000 other times throughout the forum...

How long should this take to update? I am on a Sprint Tour w/ stock OS and I let it run for about 30mins before I finally pulled the battery.

It just said it was updating and never seemed to pull any data or do anything.

not more than 1-2 min. 5 at the most. Did you try it again?

I live in NC, on VZW with Tour, current PRL 65060 running 4.7.1.40 OS

The 65060 PRL for VZW is a hybrid mix between the Alltel/VZW Network in areas where one may be better then the other(Especially in Eastern NC). It's not always the first option, depends on where you live, and even then sometimes it has to be manually sent to your phone, but it is a very quick process.

I updated my PRL from the VZ only 50XXX to the 65XXX Hybrid in my area and it improved my reception and battery life a ton, not neccessarily because of the other verision but because I was in a stronger Alltel coverage area then a VZ only one. Different areas will generally always have a different verision PRL, usually if there is a issue the PRL will be updated without you even having to do anything, other then that I have always not messed with it if I was happy. But thats just me.
