I just updated my PRL through my BB Tour a few minutes ago by using the update preferred list settings (I would imagine normal phone users calling in and requesting PRL update to their phone would do same).

It was 60652 for the longest time (months) until about 2 or so months ago I seen a post saying that it a new one came out for 60653.
I upgraded to that and within a few weeks it went to 60654.
Now this morning, its 60655. I'm not sure why the PRL's are going up quickly (weekly it seems), but anyway, wanted to post that at least mine here in PA is 60655 this morning.
Just posting for the PRL wackers (like myself) who has to have the latest of everything (OS, PRL, etc. LOL)

Should one normally update there PRL? I know how to do on my Tour Device, but before having the Tour, I never updated my PRL on any other cells phones that I had. How important is this to do? Does it really matter? I have yet to update my Tour PRL.....not sure what PRL # I'm running now, but it would have been the same one that came with my phone from July.....

Updated to 60655 in about 10 seconds on Sprint OS 4.7.1.57. It always used to hang with the provisioning message when I was running OS5 betas.

BTW, anyone know what HomeSID/HomeNID are?? I get those numbers from running SEND #4357* SEND.

    Thx

Funny, this option does NOT appear on my Tour.
I'm on TELUS with OS 4.7.1.57.

I'm assuming this must be carrier-based.

    What does this do/mean, anyhow?

Any idea why my Tour would not update to 60655? I am able to update through the mobile network, it provisions fine (says that the list was updated), dial #4357*, but it remains stuck at 60654. I am running 7.4.1.61 (Appalachin Wireless version).

EDIT: never mind, got it to work but dialing *2 - instead of the usual Sprint prompt got an automatic prompt that my PRL is updated and the phone will disconnect after it is done. Checked after the phone call and - 60655!

OK....I'm on sprint and did the #4357* thing and nothing happened relative to the PRL changing.

When dohturdima mentions dialing *2...is that all you dialed or did you do it in comjunction with something else?

I tried #4357*2, but that didn't do it?
