I have an Alpine Media deck with a usb connection and when I had my pearl I could play the song off my pear through my stereo. Am I able to do this with my tour. I tried it but it did not work. Is there some setting I need to change? The reason I'm asking is because I would like to use the slacker radio in my car via usb.

perhaps if the mass storage is turned off it wont work, try turning it on and see if that helps.

Very much interested in whether this works. In addition, will it do stuff like Pandora as well, or would that some sort of AUX input instead?

No it did not work with slacker, pandora , or any aduio that was on the phone. The screen of the alpine just said checking device. I know the pearl had the larger usb jack on the phone but I dont think that would make much of a difference.

No the usb shouldn't affect it...

Under the same memory menu is the media transfer protocol turned on or off?

Crap...I don't know what else it could be... Maybe the tour just can't do it.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

I'll hunt around and see what I can come up with, Im sure it can be done via blue tooth but I'm not gonna go buy the adapter just to test it.

Yeah I know its possible with bluetooth but there's probably a way to do it with the cable

MY pioneer had a similar problem. What fixed mine:

My pioneer could only read 2 folders deep.

    Stock, my music was /Blackberry/Music/Artist
I had to change it to just /Music/Artist

See if yours is the same.

Where do I go to see this setting? Do I just check the device when its plugged into my pc and see how many folders it takes to get to my songs?

You can go into Media player, hit the Menu button and say Explore.

You can also browse it from your PC...

Mine is setup so the music folder is on THE SAME level as the Blackberry folder.

I have a new 2009 civic with a USB connection for an IPOD. Can I connect my Tour and play Pandora or Music files from the phone on the stereo? If so what kind of cord do I need? Headphone jack on one end and USB on the other?
