Hello all. I've had my q9c two years now and although I'm satisfied with it, I've decided I should take the opportunity to upgrade. Two years ago a BB was going to cost an extra $30/month, so I went with the q9c, but now the monthly rate will be the same so I definitely want to go with a BlackBerry. I've read a ton about the 8330 and seems like most love it, but the new Curve 8530 seems to be a hit so far. I'm more interested in the fact it has wifi, trackpad, and 256 memory, compared to the 8330's 80mb. I'm also thinking about the Tour, but I've heard up and down about the Tour. Please give me your thoughts? Best bang for my money?

    $.99 Curve (8330)
    $49.99 Curve2 (8530)
    $99.99 Tour (9630)

Curve or Curve2 should do. I lost my Q9C first few months I got it, then I switched to 8830. Could not be happier. The battery life on the Q is terror compare to Blackberry.

yea, I barely make it through a full day with the Q. Can't wait to switch. Heard wirefly should have the Curve2 by Jan 10th, so I'll probably wait until then and see what it sells for.

Get the Curve2, the Tour1 has proven to be unreliable and trouble plagued.

People with a Tour usually defend it to death.

I am no the trackpad side thou. Meaning I'd advise a trackpad device over a trackball device anytime.

That said, I recommend you either get the Curve 8530 (Curve2? What about the 8900? and why isn't the 8520 Curve2 as well? :P) or wait for the Essex (Tour2) which, I have a feeling might be gracing us January...

I believe the 9650 (Essex/Tour2) will have a stronger processor (Bold like) than the 8530. So it is a matter of processor/keypad.

The 8330 is a nice device but really... Why would you go for it when it has a 312mhz processor, 96mb memory, trackball and no WiFi when you can get something else? The Tour has 256mb, (I am probably wrong here) 512mhz processor and a trackball (no WiFi). Curve 8530 is just like that and has trackpad/WiFi.

One final observation: Check with your carrier and it's users to see if there are any locks on the GPS on the said devices. I see people complaining that the GPS is locked on 8530s and the answer usually is "your carrier locked it".

Oh yes, I completely forgot about the screens resolutions! Tour tops it with a 480x360 while the Curves only go as far as 320x240.

I would go with your Curve 2 Option, as a Tour and a Curve 1 Owner user, they are Both great devices, but the trackball can be a pain on the tour, it is still hit and miss, but the curve2 has the new track pad, you don't have the love of the trackball yet, so skip it and go trackpad, because your next phone WILL NOT have a trackball, it WILL have a trackpad.

I had the moto Q when I updated in june to a BB 8330 which then was my only choice but now if I had to choose I would either go with the 8530 Curve 2 or wait for the Tour 2 (essex)

PS: I don't think the trackpad would be all the different then the pad on the Moto Q is but you can see for youself in store.
