Hey guys if you currently do not have a world phone and upgrade to the tour the global department at verizon will give you a $50 credit. I bet if you have already bought it you can call up and ask them to put it on your account.

Interesting. I gave them a call tonight but all I could get out of the OP was that sometimes a $50 credit is given to people upgrading to a World phone but not from a Word phone.

I just got off the phone with them and the CSR that I talked to said that in order to get the $50 credit, you have to set up a Global plan. Since I will not be leaving the country any time soon, I passed on it.
I'm on Sprint, and I just received an email from their Account Services dept saying I'm also eligible for the $50. I didn't even ask for it. I didn't sign up for any global plans FYI.

Isn't the global plan just a feature you can add to your plan and only activate it when you travel outside the US? So you don't actually pay anything unless you use it.
I wonder if you can still unlock your phone for free if you get this credit or have the global feature in your phone.
I just got off the phone with Verizon and they had no problem giving me the $50 credit. Along with my $50 VIP credit Tour cost me $100 can't beat that.
Wonder if you HAVE to have the 'Global' feature actually activated on the phone or not? Or, could you call, get the $50.00 credit, then call regular CS and have them deactivate the Global feature?!?
I bought my phone 2 days ago and called up. The guy was awesome and really cared about what I had to say. If they ask where you heard about it be honest because alot of the Verizon Reps are actually on CB. They credited my account 50 bucks AND sent me a free silicone case upon request! hehe

NO! I was actual;y curious about this as well, but you DO NOT NEED TO HAVE THE GLOBAL PLAN SET UP! ANd most of the reps know about this, but once in a while you will get one that knows NOTHING! Just call back and talk to a different rep lol
