I Have a unlocked blackberry tour (sprint) but I am on T-mobile. I have unlimited family texting and I can send SMS with no problem.

For some reason I can't send or receive MMS. I already talk to t-mobile and they told me to do the sim card/battery pull after I deleted my service books but that still didn't fix the problem.

Anyone Know if it is possible to send/receive picture texts without a data plan????

You need a BlackBerry Data Plan in order to get MMS.

^ Hey thanks for the reply but isn't a picture text just a picture in a text message. I don't see why the unlimited texting plan doesn't cover MMS- when it is suppose to cover both MMS & SMS.

Seems a bit shady that they are doing this

MMS works through data on a BlackBerry, it needs the right service books to work, and the only way to get those service books sent to your device is by having a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Text messages (SMS) cannot contain anything beyond text.

"Picture Messaging" is MMS. (Multimedia messaging)

On "regular phones" is accomplished by support from the carrier. It's an extended format of text messaging.

On BlackBerry devices it requires DATA.

It's not 'shady' in the slightest. It's very open and upfront.
