MMS Confirmation

I am using the "MMS" feature vs. texting in hopes that I could track when messages are not only delivered, but read. There is an option on the tour where you can select the following options:

Notifications:

Allow Delivery Confirmation
Allow Read Confirmation
Confirm Delivery
Confirm Read

My question is this; how will I know if any of the above actions have occurred? I called Sprint Tech Support and they said that I should get a message confirming these items, but it's not happening? Am I missing something? And for the record, I have all of the boxes checked so I don't know what the deal is. Any advice?

When you go to the conversation, the ones you sent to the person should have a D on top of the check mark.
It'll only work when you text other Sprint customers.

I really hope the way I explained it is somewhat the same in OS5, because I can't remember since I upgraded to OS6.
But there should be a D somewhere. Hopefully someone who's still on OS5 can explain better if you didn't understand me.
