Does having a magnet near your cellphone affect your phone? I am not talking about really small holster magnets.
I was at the library today and I was in close vicinity to the electromagnet they use to magnetize books which led me to wonder if it actually affects your phone long term.
I have heard that it does. One brand of electromagnetic drill's that I sell, say in the manuel not to have electronic devices around the tool while magnet is engaged.

Magnets always seem to do screwy things to electronic devices. As for long term effects I doubt anything at all, you think RIM would release a phone that could be damaged by something as common as magnets?
