Is there anyway to disable the keyboard backlight when the phone is plugged in charging?

Or just hit the back key (whatever the one directly to the right of the trackball is). The keyboard light will go off, but you'll also lose the clock. If you want the clock, go to the bedside mode.

Thank you, guess there really wasn't a keyboard to worry about not keeping lit on the storm..

Ahh, the nuances of using the same OS core on different models with different hardware needs.

Anyone else having trouble turning off the screen? I've tried everything and the only thing I can figure out is putting the phone into stand-by.

I'm pretty sure they're talking about when it's not plugged in.

Try locking the phone? Once you lock it the screen should dim off.

I'm talking about when the phone isn't plugged in. With my 8830 I was able to press the power button once to make the screen brighter and then again to turn the screen off. With this phone I just have to wait for the screen to dim which is annoying.
