Got it at 5:57 pm and checked my wireless update and BAM it was there! I truly can NOT beleive it is finally going to happen. Anything legit coming from Vzw is a miracle. I mean it took so damn long just to get this. I can't wait for this thing to load already. I bet my battery life and trackball issues, and speed, and browser will be just perfect now. Yea.

I just got it too but don't get your hopes up that you will see anything drastic in the performance of your Tour.

You will not notice a difference. Trackball issues are hardware related, not software related. I loaded .40, .53 and .61 and they all pale in comparison to 5.0.0.230. Take the plunge.

I don't understand why people are so excited for this upgrade. You know it's been available on the 9630 forum for almost a month now? Either way, you shouldn't expect noticeable differences in OS performance. What we really need for the Tour is a 5.0 upgrade. Anything in 4.7.1 will be negligible.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the fixes in the update were posted already in the main thread for the update, and none of them have any trackball fixes, speed fixes, browser speed fixes, or anything. If you hear people claiming their Tour is so much faster, it's all in their head! But be patient, 5.0 will be out eventually.

i went from 5.0 back to 4.7

i sware my batt lasts longer on 4.7 and i had a few glitches with 5.0 And hated the blue icons.

Yes. That is what I am really waiting patiently for. Anyhow, my Tour just finished the wireless update and haven't noticed anything in particular yet.

The desktop manager has an option of sending u an email when an update is available as well

Just open the DM and you can click options and you can check the box to receive email updates, but you must give RIM your contact info.

OK here you go. Open DM and click "help". Then click on the little "cog" looking thing. That is where you can check the box to get emailed updates.

Well, try to reset your homepage icons and see if it will reappear. If not, you have to reload it from DM.
