In Israel CDMA and GSM are OK - I have used both. Sprint has unlimited data for Israel (emails, web, etc) which they will pro-rate and is worth it! Problem is voice - very expensive. I dont know how to use local SIM card for GSM voice and CDMA for Sprint data. Would someone please reply to this post to let me know. I am waiting for reply to buy a Sprint Tour.

What settings, if any, did you have to adjust to use data in Israel?

No changes. The phone just roamed to the local CDMA network. Just be careful not to do voice calls and that you signed up for unlimited foreign data as of the date you need it and then cancel it. They prorate charges.
