Installing OS 5 from a different carrier

Hello,

I just had to downgrade to a 9630 due to a lost Blackberry, and I'm currently running OS 4.6. My carrier, Bell Mobility (Canada), never released OS 5 for the tour, and I'm wondering if I can get a step-by-step on how exactly to get it from another carrier.

I've been googling it myself for about an hour and I've tried a few things but I can't really figure it out!

I might be being stupid, but I just don't understand where to download the OS v5 software onto my computer. I can't find a download link anywhere. I've deleted the vendor.xml file, but when I check for updates it still tells me there are none.

Edit: Okay, I have now downloaded the Telus version of 5.0, but I can't figure out how to get it onto my device through the desktop software. I've tried following the link you provided... but its just not helping that much..

That's not how it works! Follow the upgrade guide in my signature. The latest OS for your CrackBerry is at the top of it's forum. Basically, you download the OS, install it just like a program and then you can install it on your phone.
