30$ for BIS 45$ for BES I think

PS verizon won't activate the tour without a blackberry data plan. It sounds like you want to buy it then add the data later. Verizon doesn't roll like that

Like said above, Verizon will only sell/activate BlackBerries with the data service which starts at $30/mo
Sprint includes the data plan in the everything plans starting at $69.99 if you get a Tour there.

$30/month for BIS, which it sounds like is what you would be signing up for.

But as mentioned above, VZW won't sell a smartphone without a data plan being activated.

BES (Blackberry Enterprise Service) is for enterprise servers so you can get private company Email pushed to your device and access their network, youll just want BIS (Blackberry Internet Service).

would it be possible to buy the tour and sign up for the $30 data package and a couple weeks later call verizon's customer service and tell them you can no longer afford the $30/month data plan and just use the blackberry as a regular phone/PDA? would there be an Early Termination Fee?

I don't know if there is a work around for vzn..

But for Sprint there is a way around it, but all CSRs will tell you that you gotta have BIS to use a BB.

Any unlimited data plan is good for the BB's on sprint.
I pay $10/mo for unlimited everything other than voice.
