Seriously I don't know what to think anymore. It looks beautiful and I guess it is my only option as far as being on vzw, but so much different info on this phone. Seriously, i hear from one person the phone will have less features than the bold?
*Edit* Sorry for the meaningless rant.Last edited by Aither; 03-10-2009 at 09:39 PM.

the curve has decent memory and can fit almost everything the average person wants. Speed can be a bit improved but in all honesty, my curve is just fine. Only major gripes I have is locked aGPS and wifi. And from the looks of it, this new blackberry is going down the same road as the current curve. I'm not supporting a product of this form if this is the end result

You should add a poll to this.
But I don't think many will switch since most 8900 users would need to get an unlocked Niagara and/or change providers. Some may thou.

No thanks... The 8900 has all I need and dont feel its worth it to switch to VZW. Plus, Wifi is a must for me now...

I really want this phone. I'm quite disappointed with the Storm because of the typing. Otherwise the Storm will be a great phone when the OS is squared away. I'm trying to hold myself back from buying an 8330 or an 8830 and just wait.

I'm going to buy a 8330 so I will have both the storm and the curve
. I would get the Viagra but I already used my upgrade on getting the storm and I don't want to pay the full price for the Viagra

this phone looks cool but i am waiting for the 9900 pluto, the touchscreen bold. i have gotten hooked with touch screen after the storm and would love to have a device with both. UNLESS they do a storm 2 w/ slider kb, i would get that definetly. i just want the hard keyboard to slide open when i need to bust out the longer emails quickly.

It is STILL not know wether or not this phone will have wifi. Prototype tester units DID, but none of the reported specs for the phone mention wifi. We shall see.
- 03-12-2009, 11:56 AM #15
There are a couple of tester unit builds floating around and some of them have WI-FI others do not.
I like the form factor of the 8900 with a keyboard but having used a test unit I can say that I will be sticking to my storm. I am a media junkie so I need the larger screen.blog Blackmanx.wordpress.com

I could go for a slightly wider keyboard..
+ wifi
So - yesBB 8300, Bold, Curve 8900, iPhone 4S - now back to the dark side! - Q10

Since I am with T-Mobile, the 8900 would be the obvious choice.
I love the small form factor and wifi on the 8900 but I also love the 3g and keyboard type of the 9630. To sum it up, the only big difference would be the 3g (since both keyboards are great), and I feel that the 3g and wifi cancel each other out.
To be quite honest, I don't really see many 8900 users making the switch. Great device coming out for Verizon/Sprint though. - 03-18-2009, 09:39 AM #19
Agreed. Why would 8900 users switch to the 9630? That's just plainly wasteful because the 8900 is already a GREAT device, if not even better because of the keyboard style. I was able to try it on Rogers, and it was godly. Returned it and backed out of contract after a few days, because I had a better deal with Telus.
The 9630 is definitely the answer to the woes of the disappointed Storm users, and to the old Curve users who want/need an upgrade.
For me, I think I'll wait for the "assumed and upcoming" 8930. I really like the Curve-style keyboard and I don't need a world edition device.

First, no thanks on the keyboard, never liked the 88XX/Bold style keyboard. Second, CDMA, no thanks! I will still be getting my 8900!
- 03-19-2009, 05:53 AM #22
Agreed to. Coming from Verizon Storm,I switched to the 8900,T-Mobile.I love the Wi-Fi and the phone.
As far as the new 9630 looks like a great improvment for Verizon/Blackberry line up it is.I can see the curve and storm people upgrading to it.I am staying right where I am 8900.IMO best blackberry out overall period! - 03-19-2009, 10:53 AM #23
depends for me. I've been having issues with T-mobile a lot recently, Im former verizon. I did unlock my 8900 and so I may try ATT to see how their service compares too. 8900 is nice and small, 3g is not a big deal, wifi is nice but the 9630... that keyboard and 3g..mmmm drool
- 03-20-2009, 09:43 AM #24
No way I'm switching. No wifi, same screen as my 8900. If I'm itching for the Bold keyboard, I'll just carry my Bold.
