Default How to get screen to light up when text or call rec'd?

Right now, if screen is dark and I get a call or text, it will ring and buzz (custom set) but the screen remains dark.

Is there a way to set the phone to light the screen so that I can see who it is without touching my phone when I get a call/text.

In an another example, if the phone is across the room in a loud place, I would like to see it light up when I get a text or call. A visual ring, per se. Instead of just the indicator light.

    Advice?

Don't think you can on text messages. On incoming calls, it will show the caller ID screen.

Simple fix is to keep your phone with you. Not only will you feel it vibrate and have a better chance of hearing it ring, but it will lessen the chances of your phone walking off without you!

I did a google search and found what I think the latest version is for BBLight. Would this be it? I know my screen already lights up when I get a call but it would be nice if it did the same for texts/emails.

The screen SHOULD be lighting up when you get a call. Both of my BB's do. I'm not sure about texts and what-not.

BBlight is a great app and I always had it running on my curve as it has some great features....after upgrading to the Tour though, I was not able to get BBlight to function properly for some reason.....but apparently this problem has been resolved with the newest version of the application. I no longer use the program as Berryaddon is another program that enables vibrate/ring in addition to many other features. But if your main interest is having the screen light up when you receive a message, BBlight will be the perfect program for you......

I can confirm that BBLight will light up the Tour when you receive a text or email (not with BBM or and IM). However, the "RING & VIBRATE" does not work well with the Tour. I had BBLight on my Curve and was flawless. But the sound profile settings for the Tour are now different from the Curve. The Tour does not have a "REPEAT" option in the sound profile settings, which I think BBLight needs for the "RING & VIBRATE" to work.

I have version 1.95, which I think is the latest version. If there is a newer version out there, could someone please post?

So where can I find this BBLight to review it myself? Tried searching for it on CB but found nothing. Will try googling it but thought I'd still post this question to see if I can still get some advice.

    Thanks guys

Awesome. Thanks for the quick bit of info. I live and work where there is no cell service what so ever (the whole town!!) but travel often. Usually when I am in service area I don't have much time to browse for things online but rather find things when I don't have service and just wait for the suprises to roll in since I email everything to my phone. Yay.

Hoping to move soon and will be in service area 24/7.

    Default No problem

No problem. Next time someone asks the same question it's your assignment to reply. j/k

Hey, I got something out of it too. I didn't realize that BBLight can be set up to automatically open the email app when an email arrives.
