I don't know that I could type anywhere near that fast without autotext, but with it on I can probably hit in the 40wpm range for bursts of typing where I know what I'm going to type ahead of time. Sometimes I have to slow down to let my train of thought catch up because to type fast I have to concentrate more on doing that than on what I'm actually going to type.
Takes a bit of practice. First learn to touch type without having to look at the keyboard. After that, you'll just gradually get faster.

I can type at least 120 WPM. At least that's what g I told my typing teacher 30 plus years ago. But if this is a real question. We better break out the stop watch again.

OK typing pros... what is the best approach for actually typing on this beast? I've tried using the tips of my thumbs and more of the flat thumb attack, not sure which is the proper way to go about it. Bad thing is my thumbs are pretty much beat to he!! from work...cuts, dried out..etc so that doesn't help. Also you throw the Defender keyboard cover on there and it makes it a little tougher to "feel" the raised ribs of the keys. I think they need to invent a speech to text app for my use...lol, or maybe just need more barley before I start...lol. I can get around pretty well on it, just get frustrated sometimes when I'm in a hurry and see mistakes.

Not without making some kind of mistake. I type slow I'm too cautious.

Not cautious enough to avoid a double post.

I can type pretty fast.. Average about 30-40wpm.. Without spelling mistakes (grammar/punctuation mistakes is another story
).. Sometimes a lot faster... Depends on whether I have to think about a response or not... However, I have been texting since it came to America so to speak lol so it's kind of natural to me.

I can get 30+ on a good day when I know what I want to say...
Not to hijack the thread but I have noticed that when typing on a regular keyboard I have really gotten used to the shortcuts with the BB. I will type im and expect to get I'm or il and I'll - also will hit the spacebar twice expecting to get a period - same thing when typing email addresses. And holding a key on a regular keyboard does NOT capitalize it - LOL

I'm pretty quick on the tour. My Sedio Incase Surface is messing me up though. Used to this thing being naked and now its impeding on my typing! Can't imagine I'm 30/40wpm though.

I'm also around 30 wpm, sometimes faster if I'm in a hurry (or trying to avoid a ticket...). I use both thumbs when possible, but really slow down when I only use one.
I find myself using the shortcuts as well. I've seem to have memorized them without realizing how or when lol - 03-09-2010, 02:00 PM #19
Two hands. I don't really have to look, no. I can watch the screen and edit out any typos that might pop in there. Getting better and better at getting the eyes off the keyboard. Its very easy on a computer but with only one little "bump" over the "d"key on my tour its hard to know where my right thumb is without looking!

I don t know why it talks about WPM and not TPM/CPM (types/characters), however I use typerspeed on my 9320 to calculate my speed writing. My best is 91.6 WPM=458BPM..what s ur?
