I have the 9630 via Verizon and I recently upgraded the os to v.5.0.0975. I'm sorry I did as the battery is draining very quickly. I'm certain its related to this new os as I did not have this problem before the upgrade. Besides the battery issue, everything else is working fine.
If possible I would like to downgrade the the previous version of the 5.0 os as that worked fine. Please advise.
A downgrade is the same as an upgrade. The short steps are:
1. Download your OS to your PC
2. Backup your device settings using DM
3. Backup your 3rd party apps using BBSAK
4. Wipe your device using BBSAK
5. Load your OS using loader.exe
6. Restore your setting using DM
7. Restore your 3rd party apps using DM
You aren't stuck with Verizon official OS' either, or any carrier, if you have a PC.
Find and download the OS you want, and run the .exe file.
Navigate to C:/program files/common files/research in motion/apploader (or very similar). In that folder, delete "vendor.xml" (it may be more than one place, can use the search to find all instances of it). Run loader.exe in that same folder.
