How to activate the bb tour on the digicel carrier which is a gsm network?

Hey people i bought an unlocked blackberry tour 9639 phone from the sprint a cdma network an i bought it from the carrier digicel in jamaica which is a GSM network..and the the blackberry internet service cant be activated, cant can i do to fix this problem people???..thank you

make sure the digicel plan supports bis

yes it does support however it seems like my phone doesnt support the bis

Try doing a battery pull and then having service books be resent.

In another thread I saw someone say put a sim in which already has the bb plan on it into the phone. Let it remain in the phone for a while so it registers in it then put the sim without the plan in it and try to put in the data activation code.

I had your same problem when I went to trinidad with a 9650 but only when I came back to the US I found the thread stating what I provided to you above.

I know this response is a few months after you posted but give it a try if need be and let me know if it works or if you found another solution.

try change the network technology to GSM/UMTS (Manage Connections-Mobile Network Options). I bought mine from Verizon and brought it to Indonesia. I used the TELKOMSEL which is a GSM and working great.
