I'm on my second Tour now. Before I returned my first one, I backed it up. When I got my new one, I restored it from that backup. Everyting came back exactly as before, but unfortunately, I had neglected to back up my third party apps, so none of them got restored.

I've since downloaded those apps again. When the icon gets built, it doesn't go into my download folder like it did the first time on my first Tour. The icon goes right back to the place on the homepage that I had moved it to, like it was on my old Tour.

So, evidently the OS remembers what icons were where, even though the app isn't downloaded. And when it is downloaded, it sets the icon up to where it was before.

That's a nice feature, but I have to ask, if the icon position is remembered, why isn't the app saved by default on a backup? I know, different parts of the OS, but still...
