no when i put in disc just a gray screen not starting up no error messages.

You can also download Desktop Manager 5.0 off the internet, I did.

You can also download 4.6, 4.7, etc.

5.0 is harder to find a download for, you have to Google it.

Just search Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0 download. I hope you have broadband internet, because the file is huge at 300+ MB.

I found 5.0 had a grey screen that lasted a few minutes before installation began (using Windows 7). Did you give it some time? Also, I found that 5.0 did not give me full removal options (languages, help, etc.), only games and apps. I went back to 4.7, which let me prune out what I didn't need.

I was getting the same problem. I popped the disc out and retried. It took 2 or 3 tries but it finally started to work.

You can still download from the disc.

Insert disc>go to my computer>right click optical drive>click explore>click folder that says "files">click folder "exec">Click "BBinstaller">click "_setup.exe

and you're good to go. Thanks to C4WDeX

I'm getting the CD to run properly and I've downloaded DM 5.0 and 4.7 from RIM and Verizon. I can't get any of them to install.

The process starts and then I get an error message that the installation was interrupted and no changes were made to my system; that occurs about 30 seconds into the install.

Any advice, I'm stumped!

I have the same problem, and there isn't an error message. I put the disk in, it opens a large, gray window, and nothing ever happens.

I can close the window and use Windows Explorer to go find the .exe files mentioned elsewhere in this post, but those have an error message that the installation couldn't complete as someone else mentioned here as well.

For added info, this is a dual core machine using Win XP SP3.

Absolutley!! This is the answer to all. Seems to be problems when installing from the included disk. Downloaded from VZW and installed with no problem.

From what I heard, some of the CD's that went out with the Tours are corrupted. You can either download it or you can just use the latest version, 4.7 worked perfectly for me.
