Recently my Tour 9630 displayed a black box in the center of the screen that does not go away except when locked, which it replaces with a different box that says "screen is locked, etc."
i can still use my convenience keys to open messages, but only the app opens and the scrollball is essentially useless, because the black box is in the way.
if i leave the phone untouched for a long time, the box goes away, but as soon as i switch screens it returns, to show a residual of the previous screen.
I have done several battery pulls and alt+shift+delete and none of this has helped.
does anyone have a similar problem or advice on how to fix it??
Have you installed any software on the device? Newer?
What OS is loaded on your phone? You might investigate reloading the OS. Sounds as if something is "displaying" a message or prompt but one you cannot respond to.
