i have noticed while playing music. the head phone icon in the corner is broken looking. when i plug it in it look complete and then distorts( like indicating a bad connection.

i have also notice audio (intermittently) coming out one side or the other. and crackling.

verizon says it cause. im not using blackberry headphones, but i am.

any thoughts.

Well, then you should use Blackberry headphones even if you are using BB headphones!!

You might try to ol' battery pull or return the unit for one that works correctly.
