After installing the Gmail plug in, I have noticed there are 6 apps now that stay open unlike before when it use to be 5. The 6 that are staying open are Messages, BBM, Home, Phone, Browser, Enhanced Gmail plug in.

I know usually only the first 5 I mentioned stayed open before. I am wonder is it 6 now because of the Gmail plug in or because I am running 5.0 with 7.11 hybrid.

It's the gmail plugin. It's an application that adds additional features to the gmail account linked to your bberry.

Yep, it's the plug-in. Mine usually goes away after awhile. Don't know why though.

Good to know I wasn't leaving anything open that doesn't have to stay open.
