i used to have an 8900 and i always had it so on my home screen was the email folder with the little globe on it when highlighted it had my emaila ddress under it, you know, the standard email folder. with all my previous blackberries when i got an email, the red asterisk would be on that folder, as well as the counter up top. with my new tour, the counter is up top, but the asterisk only goes on the general messages folder and not my specific email address folder, bit the emailis in that folder. wwwwhat?

that's weird - i would try deleting services books, then battery pull. maybe when your service books are pushed back to you it will fix the folder problem.
