Default Getting rid of "Activation Required"... MSL code fix

Hi guys,

So I've been browsing the forums for a the fix for the Activation Required for unlocked BlackBerry tours. You can fix this by dialing ##MSLCODE and hitting send.

The problem most people are having is they need an MSL code. I tried playing around with the uniCDMA and hexWorkshop to try and find the readable address block to retrieve the code but could not find it.

However, you can still retrieve your MSL code given your phones MEID. It is a complex conversion algorithm and applies to all phones/carriers.

The program to perform the conversion is called getSPC (download: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting). Instructions are below:
1. Unzip and copy the extracted GetSPC folder (with all 3 files) to the storage card on your device.

2. Write down the ESN (Hex) number found behind the battery.

3. Power up and run the 'GetSPC(PPC 2003)' executable on your device.

4. In the 'Input' field, enter the ESN number you wrote down but be sure to use ALL CAPITOLS for the alpha values. (Ex: 123ABCD4, not 123abcd4)

5. Hit the 'Go' button. The value in the 'Output' field will be your "Unlock Code".
Now the PROBLEM is that it can only run on a windows mobile device. I don't have a windows mobile device, so if someone does have one and can run the program, please let me know if it works. And if it does, could you kindly also run it on my MEID please?

Well Verizon is just ##000000, or you can dial *611 and ask your carrier for the manual programming instructions.

There are instructions here - Windows Mobile - Using Windows Mobile Emulator | Amset.info - for running a Windows Mobile emulator from Microsoft. Let us know your findings.

(Do you know if your program is for Windows Mobile standard or professional? non-touch screen vs. touch screen. There are different emulator image files for each.)

Send that info via PM. Never post your ESN, MEID or IMEI on a public forum.

Hello whydna. How do you transfer the GetSPC software onto the SD card of the Blackberry Storm 2. I have recently acquired this unit and wish to get the MSL #. The unit is a Telus, and I have recently unlocked it. Unfortunately, the carrier I want to sign up with is still in the dark ages, and uses CDMA. The only way they can get the phone onto their system is to know the MSL #. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
