Default Fellow addicts I would like your help

Okay, well I currently have the Storm and I'm not eligible for an upgrade like many others. I would love to get the Tour but I don't know if I should pay full retail or wait 4 more months for my annual upgrade. I don't know if I can wait that long. I like the Storm but sometimes I become frustrated with it because it starts lagging or typing on it doesn't register every key press or many other Storm issues. Days like that make me want to buy any phone at any price but of course that would not be smart. I am a college student and I would have to pay for the Tour with my credit card because I have no money right now. I would like the help from you guys to be persuaded one way or the other. The question is Tour or no Tour?

If you can't afford it right now, I'd recommend holding off for your annual upgrade. 4 months isn't that long. But really it comes down to how badly do you want the Tour and can you actually manage it?

I'm still in high school and I am going to have absolutely no problem swiping my plastic for the Tour.

Everyone has a niche and a soft spot in their wallet - some like car accessories, some like drugs and then there are some who love their technology.

Well half the time I want it really bad and then the other half I tell myself I can wait.

Yes, I do love my technology but also I'm hoping it is a lot more reliable then my Storm. I'm just curious, are going to be paying full price as well?

For the most part, yes.

My dad's two year expires this month. And I would love to use it. But he wants to get a new phone. So, I might chuck either my Curve or my Q9m at him. And he'll let me get his upgrade. But, otherwise, full price!

F3ar, I would wait if it's only 4 more months and save the cash. If you swipe your card for it and can't pay the card off in full when the bill comes then you are really costing yourself more money. Credit card companies su*k right now and are jacking rates up...lowering credit limits and increasing the minimum payments. Also, what if...just what if....the bb comes out with issues and you hate it anyway. Give it time to get out on the street, read all the reviews and stay on forums. 4 months goes by in a flash....save the cash dude, it's only a phone...

There is no way I can pay the card in full when the bill comes but my rate is extremely low and they actually increased my credit limit last month. My credit card comes directly from my bank but they can always change their mind. Thanks for the advice I might just read your post a few times a day so I can convince myself not to buy it. lol

Oh and be careful with what you said at the end because people around here love their BBs.

I'm still using my Palm Treo that I got when they came out 4 years ago...every year the new stuff comes out and I say maybe this year...and for some reason I never do ( probably money) well, I am finally going to upgrade to the bb tour and it cost me $49 to upgrade....The price for the 2 yr was $269.99 and I got the online discount of $70 and then another discount for new every two $100 off...and verizon owed me a credit of $50 because my treo is a P.O.S. so my total to finally upgrade was $49.99.. I'd say it was worth the wait.

Not that I think anything will be wrong with them because I"m assuming it's just like the bb bold ( which is why i ordered one) I'm just saying it's always a possibility. So maybe save yourself a few bucks by waiting....Or...what if you start calling tech support now and complaining like crazy every day until someone has a heart and lets you out of the contract sounds like a plan that might work

HAHA

Funny thing is I have called them multiple times and I plan on calling them again. Every time I pick up the house phone my little sister asks who are you going to call and when I tell her Verizon she gets mad and tells me to leave them alone already lol. She said if she was the one to answer my call she would go off on me haha.

You'd actually be surprised. Call up Verizon, tell them you're going out of country and ask for the unlock code. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can now use the Storm on any GSM Network in the US as well as Verizon (but not at 3G speed).
