    Default Existing Customers Pre-Order

    There is a known issue with existing customers pre-ordering. Verizon is working on it and there is an ETA of tomorrow (7/1) to allow existing customers to pre-order.

    Be patient folks.

    Are you getting this from something official or are you just making an educated guess?

    No, do not call. Theyre just putting you on a follow up list so when they come into work they will order your phone. There is no guarantee you will actually get it. They did it for the Storm release and they sold out so reps who came in late had to call those customers back and tell them they were SOL.

    So you are saying the best way to get this phone is by waiting the day out and pre-ordering online tomorrow?

    I think that's the way to go. That way something is actually happening within the system. Otherwise you're relying on a CSR to take remember and take care of it for you. No offense to CSR's, but I trust myself more.

    i called earlier this morning and was told i would get confirmation when the order is able to go through. The only thing that made it simi-official was they made me listen to that 2 year agreement recording.

    Just talked to someone from Telesales who told me it is only for new customers and won't be available to existing customers until the 12th. Weekendbum, can you definitively confirm that this is a mistake and not a marketing ploy by Verizon?

    This is a mistake, a system error. Obviously this rep is not using his resources.. Verizon tends to treat its current customers better than new customers (New every two, VIP, etc..). I've never heard of Verizon only limiting pre-orders to new customers.

    I would listen to WeekendBum. There is no way in **** if you way until tomorrow that you wont have a problem pre-ordering and having to worry about quantities running out. Also when the Storm came out the rep said the same thing that they would call me back to order one on release day. Well I found quantity locally so I went and picked one up and that rep did end up calling me....a week after it was released. So youre better off pre-ordering it yourself.

    Instead of panicking I figured it was a system issue because there is no way VZW would want to leave out existing customers who continually bring them revenue.

    I spoke to someone today and was told the same thing. He told me the only thing that might possibly happen is existing customers might be able to get it a day or two in advance. But he said thats only a possibility.

    Thanks for the info. I tried this morning, and saw that I couldn't select the phone in the list of phones it gave me. I was going to call them later today, but now I'll just wait. I would rather place the order myself on the website, than get on some "list" from speaking with a rep.

    Thanks for the info. I was pretty annoyed this morning. I waited until 3:01 am just to find out I couldn't pre order! Hopefully, this pans out and existing customers don't get the short end.

    It's a web glitch. If existing customers were not able to pre-order the Tour, then why would there be a link to "Are you an existing customer" under the "Add to Cart" button?
