Existing Customers Pre-Order
There is a known issue with existing customers pre-ordering. Verizon is working on it and there is an ETA of tomorrow (7/1) to allow existing customers to pre-order.

No, do not call. Theyre just putting you on a follow up list so when they come into work they will order your phone. There is no guarantee you will actually get it. They did it for the Storm release and they sold out so reps who came in late had to call those customers back and tell them they were SOL.

Just talked to someone from Telesales who told me it is only for new customers and won't be available to existing customers until the 12th. Weekendbum, can you definitively confirm that this is a mistake and not a marketing ploy by Verizon?

I would listen to WeekendBum. There is no way in **** if you way until tomorrow that you wont have a problem pre-ordering and having to worry about quantities running out. Also when the Storm came out the rep said the same thing that they would call me back to order one on release day. Well I found quantity locally so I went and picked one up and that rep did end up calling me....a week after it was released. So youre better off pre-ordering it yourself.
Instead of panicking I figured it was a system issue because there is no way VZW would want to leave out existing customers who continually bring them revenue. - 06-30-2009, 02:16 PM #17

Thanks for the info. I tried this morning, and saw that I couldn't select the phone in the list of phones it gave me. I was going to call them later today, but now I'll just wait. I would rather place the order myself on the website, than get on some "list" from speaking with a rep.

It's a web glitch. If existing customers were not able to pre-order the Tour, then why would there be a link to "Are you an existing customer" under the "Add to Cart" button?
